Monthly vs Annual Subscription Calculator
Add every AI and SaaS subscription you pay for. For each one, see what a year costs on monthly billing versus annual billing, the month where annual pays for itself, and how your total compares with an $800/year benchmark.
Everything runs in your browser — nothing is sent or stored anywhere. Enter the real annual price when you know it. Presets below carry prices we checked on the vendors' official pages, each with its check date; presets marked "price pending verification" show no numbers until we verify them. Plans with no annual option never show a switching saving — there is nothing to switch to.
- Claude Pro — $20/month, $200/year. Checked 2026-10-29. Claude pricing.
- ChatGPT Plus — monthly price pending verification; no annual plan for individuals. ChatGPT pricing.
- Notion Plus — prices pending verification. Notion pricing.
- Canva Pro — prices pending verification. Canva pricing.
- Grammarly Pro — prices pending verification. Grammarly plans.
(1–12). The comparison below uses this horizon: an annual price counts as a one-time payment, with no refund assumed.
Your totals
| Total monthly-equivalent spend | $0.00 / month |
|---|---|
| Total yearly spend (current billing) | $0.00 / year |
| Saving from switching (rows with a known annual price) | $0.00 / year |
| Yearly spend after switching | $0.00 / year |
Benchmark: $800/year (the bar fills toward $800; it turns amber if you pass it).
Heavy-use reference: a $200 top-tier plan's weekly allowance lasts roughly 2–5 heavy days (about $40–100 per heavy day), and a 20,000-credit monthly pool covers only a few large research jobs. If your usage looks like that, compare plans on quota size and top-up terms — not on sticker price.
FAQ
Is an annual subscription always cheaper?
Only if you keep it past the break-even month. Cancel earlier and monthly billing would have cost less.
How do I find the break-even month?
Divide the annual price by the monthly price. $200 ÷ $20 = 10 months for Claude Pro.
Why does ChatGPT Plus show no saving?
OpenAI does not offer an annual plan for individual Plus subscribers, so there is nothing to switch to.
Are these prices current?
Each preset shows the date we checked it against the vendor's official pricing page. Always confirm at checkout.

How to read this
The billing-cycle switch is the free saving. If a tool is in your stack to stay, annual billing usually discounts it 15–20% for nothing but commitment. Cancelling overlap is the bigger one: two AI assistants, or a writing tool plus a chatbot that already rewrites, often duplicate each other — our comparisons exist to help pick which one keeps the job. And if your total is far under the benchmark, good: the point was never to spend less than $800, it's to not spend it on waste.
Estimates only. Real annual prices vary by vendor and change over time — always confirm on the vendor's official pricing page before switching. See our Methodology.
